Agreeing to these terms

By using churchesatlas.com (“the site”) or creating an account, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. ChurchesAtlas is run by an individual and is not yet a registered company; “we” and “us” mean the operator of the site.

Your account

• You must be at least 16 to create an account.
• There are no passwords. You sign in with Google or with a link we email you. Keep your email account secure, because anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
• New accounts must confirm their email address within 24 hours of joining. Until you confirm, access may pause.
• Give us a real email address and keep your details accurate. One person, one account.
• You can delete your account at any time by writing to support@churchesatlas.com.

Free membership

Membership is free for now and gives access to in-depth pages, full galleries and saved churches. We may later introduce paid memberships or products. If we do, we will tell you before anything is charged, and your free account will not be turned into a paid one without your agreement. We may change what free and paid members receive, with notice on the site.

Our photographs and text

The photographs, text, maps, design and logos on the site belong to us and are protected by copyright. All rights reserved. You may view the site and share a link to any page. You may not copy, scrape, republish, sell or use our photographs or text, including to train artificial intelligence models, without written permission. To license a photograph, see Image Rights.

Photos and suggestions you send us

If you send us a photograph, a suggestion or a correction, you confirm that you took the photograph or have the right to share it, and that it does not break anyone’s rights or the law. You keep ownership. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to review, edit, crop, publish, display and promote it on the site and our social accounts, with credit as you tell us, until you ask us to remove it. We decide what to publish and may decline anything for any reason. Photos of people’s faces, children or worshippers in prayer should not be sent without their permission.

Visiting information

We work hard to be accurate, but opening hours, Mass times, entry rules, dress codes and closures change often. Times marked “as listed on Google” have not been confirmed by us. Please check with the church before you travel. Churches are places of worship: respect their rules, services and the people praying in them.

Using the site properly

• Do not break, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the site, or try to reach pages or data that are not meant for you.
• Do not use automated tools to copy the site or its photographs.
• Do not send us anything unlawful, hateful, misleading or harmful.

We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms.

Links to other sites

The site links to churches, tourism offices and other services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices.

Purchases

If we sell prints, shirts, city guides or memberships, the price, delivery and refund terms will be shown at checkout, and payments will be handled by Stripe. Where the law gives you a right to cancel or a refund, these terms do not take it away.

No guarantees; limits on our liability

The site is provided “as is”. We do not promise that it will always be available, error-free or complete. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from relying on the site’s information, including a wasted trip. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your rights as a consumer.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will change the date above and tell account holders by email. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
