The minimum fee for any license is $75.

License terms

Credit. Next to the photograph, and linked online: Photo: Erdo / ChurchesAtlas.
Use. The license covers the stated use only and can't be transferred. Copyright stays with the photographer.
Not allowed. AI training, resale of the file, and edits that change the subject. Cropping and color correction are fine.
The photograph only. A license gives no rights in any building, artwork, trademark or person shown.

Church restrictions

We check these before any commercial license:

Italy. Commercial reproduction of state-protected cultural property may need permission and a fee from the body that manages it.
The Vatican, including St. Peter's. Interior photographs are licensed for editorial use only.
Other churches. Where the parish or owner restricts commercial use, we license for editorial use only.

Use without a license

A small non-commercial site that removes a photograph within 7 days of our first notice pays no fee. Otherwise, a retroactive license settled before any legal step costs 3 times the list price, with a $300 minimum, or 5 times if a credit or file information was removed. We pursue continued use after written notice through an attorney or a recovery service.
